Structural & Functional Care at NEKAWA
Integrated therapeutic care supporting movement, alignment and nervous system regulation.
The body carries our experiences.
Physical tension, pain, postural patterns and nervous system responses are often deeply interconnected. At NEKAWA, treatment is centred around understanding the whole person rather than simply focusing on symptoms in isolation.
Sessions are individually tailored and may incorporate structural bodywork, craniosacral therapy, fascial unwinding, dry needling, joint mobilisation, soft tissue techniques, cupping, stretching and nervous system support according to your body’s needs.
There is no predetermined protocol because no two people present the same way.
My role is to listen - to both your story and your body’s responses - and create the conditions for greater ease, regulation and function to emerge.
An Integrated Approach
With over 25 years of experience across health, movement, anatomy and therapeutic practice, my approach draws on a broad range of clinical skills and modalities.
Sessions are adapted to what your body is communicating on the day there is no set routine or expectation.
Some people attend seeking relief from pain or injury. Others are navigating stress, overwhelm or persistent tension that no longer feels purely physical. Often, the body and nervous system are speaking the same language.
Depending on your presentation, treatment may incorporate:
- Structural assessment and postural realignment
- Craniosacral Therapy
- Fascial unwinding
- Joint mobilisation
- Dry needling
- Soft tissue therapy
- Cupping and stretching techniques
- Nervous system regulation approaches
The goal is not to apply a predetermined technique, but to respond to what your body needs in that moment.
Conditions Commonly Supported
People seek support for many reasons, including:
- Neck and back pain
- Headaches and migraines
- Jaw tension and TMJ dysfunction
- Postural strain
- Persistent muscular tension
- Injury recovery and rehabilitation
- Stress-related physical symptoms
- Nervous system dysregulation
- Fatigue and overwhelm
- Chronic pain patterns
Every person’s experience is unique, and treatment is always tailored to the individual.
The Body, Fascia and Nervous System
Many persistent patterns of pain and tension arise not from a single structure, but from the interaction between posture, movement, fascia and the nervous system.
When the nervous system remains in a protective state, the body may hold tension patterns long after the original stressor has passed.
As the body restores safety and regulation, people often notice changes not only in comfort and movement, but also in energy, resilience and overall wellbeing.
At NEKAWA, treatment aims to support both physical function and nervous system balance, recognising that lasting change often occurs when both are addressed together.
What to Expect
Sessions begin with understanding your history, current concerns and goals.
Treatment is collaborative and responsive. Some sessions may be more structurally focused, while others may involve gentle craniosacral work or nervous system support.
No two sessions are exactly the same because no two people are exactly the same.
The intention is always to meet you where you are and support your body’s capacity for healing, adaptation and change.
Is This Right for Me?
You do not need to know which modality you require.
Whether you are seeking support for pain, stress, recovery, performance or simply a sense that something feels out of balance, treatment is tailored to your individual needs.
Together, we create the conditions for greater clarity, regulation and meaningful change to emerge.
Supporting the mind, body and nervous system - from surviving to thriving.
Bodywork and Craniosacral Therapy
Gentle, body-led support that works with the nervous system to ease tension, support regulation, and allow the body to move toward greater balance and alignment through attentive, non-invasive touch.
