Cleansing and Charging your Crystals

Cleansing and Charging your Crystals

Remember to always use your intuition when selecting a method to cleanse your crystals and please check each crystal as some may be soft and easily scratched or damaged when handled. To ensure maximum effectiveness cleanse before charging.  Some methods may work better than others for you, and it's important to listen to what feels right for you and your stone.

Here are a few methods you can use to cleanse and charge your healing crystals:

Running Water:

Hold your crystal under running water (such as a tap or stream) for a few minutes. Visualize the negative energy being washed away and the crystal being infused with positive energy.

Salt Water:

Fill a bowl with water and add a few tablespoons of sea salt. Place your crystal in the water and let it soak for a few hours or overnight. Rinse it thoroughly under running water and dry it with a soft cloth.

Smudging:

Light a bundle of sage or palo santo and let the smoke surround your crystal. Visualize the smoke cleansing the crystal of negative energy.

Sunlight/Moonlight:

Place your crystal in direct sunlight or moonlight for a few hours. Visualize the crystal being infused with positive energy.

Sound:

Use a singing bowl, tuning fork, or other sound instrument to create a vibration around your crystal. Visualise the sound waves breaking up any negative energy and leaving the crystal cleansed and charged.

Earth:

Burying your crystals in the soil for a few days. This is effective to ground and charge your crystals.

Other crystals:

Placing your crystals on or near a larger crystal cluster, such as amethyst or clear quartz, or place near selenite (I have a selenite bowl). The larger crystal will charge the smaller ones.

Visualisation:

To charge your crystals, you can hold them in your hands and focus your intention on them. Visualise the energy you want to infuse them with (such as love, peace or abundance) and feel that energy flowing into the crystal. You can also place your crystals on a bed of dried herbs (such as rose petals or lavender) or on a piece of selenite overnight to help charge them. Remember to always cleanse your crystals before charging them to ensure that they are clear of any negative energy.

Self-cleansing crystals:

There are several crystals that are considered to be self-cleansing, meaning that they don't require regular cleansing like other crystals do. Here are a few examples:

Citrine:

Citrine is a self-cleansing crystal that is said to absorb, transmute and dissipate negative energy.

Kyanite:

Kyanite is a self-cleansing crystal that doesn't absorb negative energy like other crystals do. Instead it aligns and balances the chakras, clears energy blockages and removes negative energy from the aura.

Selenite:

Selenite is a self-cleansing crystal that is often used to cleanse and charge other crystals. It is said to have a high vibration that can clear negative energy and restore balance to the body and mind.

Carnelian:

Carnelian is a self-cleansing crystal that is said to be a powerful cleanser of other crystals as well as the body and mind. It is said to absorb and transmute negative energy, and to stimulate creativity and motivation.

Clear Quartz:

Clear Quartz is a self-cleansing crystal that is often used to cleanse and charge other crystals. It is said to be a master healer and to amplify energy and intentions.

Amethyst:

Amethyst is often considered a self-cleansing crystal due to its ability to transmute negative energy into positive energy. However cleansing your amethyst can help to release any negative energy it has absorbed and restore its natural vibrations, allowing it to work at its highest potential.

It's important to note that while these crystals are considered to be self-cleansing, they can still benefit from occasional cleansing and charging to keep them working at their highest potential, especially if you use it frequently or it has been exposed to a lot of negative energy.
