My Journey with Hypnosis
For me, hypnosis is one of the quickest, most effective ways to create change — especially when it comes to rewiring negative thought patterns. I used to live with constant mental chatter. My mind was busy all the time, making it hard to meditate, hard to switch off, and hard to enjoy my own company.
Hypnosis helped me break free from that negative mental backchat. It gave me the tools to quiet my mind and reconnect with the present moment. Now, I use it both personally and professionally to help others find that same calm, clarity, and focus.
I specialise in trauma-informed hypnotherapy techniques, which are safe, effective, and empowering. We don’t revisit past traumas unnecessarily — instead, we tune into how your body is holding onto the effects of past events. Many of the sensations, triggers, or emotional patterns you might be experiencing today are often echoes of earlier experiences.
The goal is to release the body’s reaction, whether you consciously know the origin or not, so that you can move forward feeling lighter, clearer, and more in control of your life.
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis — or trance — is a completely natural state of focused awareness that we all experience every day. It’s that feeling of being ‘in the zone,’ when you’re driving and forget the last few turns, or when you’re so absorbed in a task that time passes effortlessly.
In fact, children under 7 are said to be in a near-permanent state of hypnosis, which is why they absorb new information and behaviours so quickly. This also explains why early childhood experiences can have such a strong impact on how we think, feel, and act later in life.
The idea of using trance states for healing and focus isn’t new. Forms of hypnosis have been used across cultures for centuries. More formally, Scottish neurosurgeon James Braid pioneered hypnosis for surgical anaesthesia in the 1840s, using focused attention and relaxation to relieve pain long before modern anaesthetics.

What Does a Hypnotherapist Do?
A hypnotherapist is a trained professional who guides you into a focused, relaxed state and uses positive, tailored suggestions to help you shift unwanted habits, emotional patterns, or beliefs. Each session is completely personalised to your unique journey.
Is Hypnosis Mind Control?
No — you are always in full control. You can open your eyes, move around, scratch your nose, or stop the session at any time. Hypnosis simply helps you access a more relaxed, receptive state, allowing your mind to focus on what you want to change.
What about stage hypnosis? While the process of entering trance might be similar, stage hypnosis is for entertainment, and participants have volunteered to be part of that experience. Clinical hypnotherapy is entirely focused on your goals, your healing, and your personal growth.
